Hockey tickets 2026-27: what this guide covers
This site is an independent guide for fans who want to see live ice hockey in person, whether that means a Tuesday night in an NHL arena, a derby in a European league or a national-team game at the World Championship. The 2026-27 season is a big one, and the sections below explain how the guide is organised so you can reach the right page quickly.
We keep one rule above all others: only confirmed information is published as fact. When a date, venue or team has not been announced, we say so plainly instead of guessing. That matters for hockey tickets in particular, because on-sale dates and arena details move around, and a wrong assumption can cost you a flight or a hotel booking.

NHL tickets 2026-27 and the first 84-game season
The headline of the North American season is simple: for the first time in decades, every NHL team plays 84 regular-season games, which makes 1,344 games in total. The regular season starts on 29 September 2026 and ends on 10 April 2027. Playoffs begin in mid-April 2027, although the exact date is not announced yet, and the Stanley Cup Final is expected in June 2027.
NHL schedule and game dates
Each team plays 42 home games, so a supporter who wants one specific club has plenty of dates to choose from. Our NHL hub explains divisions, conferences and how to pick a game, and the schedule page covers weekday patterns and the time difference with Europe. If you prefer to start with a city, the team pages list the arena, the neighbourhood and the home-game window for each franchise.
Outdoor games and special event tickets
The 2026-27 calendar includes three outdoor games. The Heritage Classic takes place on 25 October 2026 in Winnipeg, with Winnipeg hosting Montréal at Princess Auto Stadium. The Winter Classic is on 31 December 2026 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, with Utah hosting Colorado. The Stadium Series follows on 20 February 2027 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with Dallas facing Vegas. These stadium games are the hardest hockey tickets to get, so early planning pays off.
Hockey tickets in Europe: NHL Global Series and Worlds
You do not have to cross the Atlantic to see top-level hockey this season. The NHL Global Series brings regular-season games to Europe in 2026, and the IIHF World Championship 2027 is held in Germany.
NHL Global Series tickets in Helsinki and DĂĽsseldorf
In Helsinki, Seattle and Carolina play twice at Veikkaus Arena, on 12 November 2026 with Seattle as the home team and on 14 November 2026 with Carolina at home. In DĂĽsseldorf, Ottawa and Chicago play twice at PSD Bank Dome, on 18 December 2026 with Ottawa at home and on 20 December 2026 with Chicago at home. For European fans these are the simplest way to see an NHL game without long-haul travel.
World Championship 2027 tickets in Germany
The IIHF World Championship runs from 13 to 30 May 2027. Group B is played at PSD Bank Dome in DĂĽsseldorf and Group A at SAP Arena in Mannheim. The opening game, Germany against Switzerland, is on 13 May 2027 at Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, and the final is on 30 May in DĂĽsseldorf. Finland are the reigning champions after their 2026 title. The 2028 edition moves to France, with Paris and Lyon hosting from 12 to 28 May 2028.
European league hockey tickets and the club season
Domestic leagues offer a different kind of experience from the NHL: smaller arenas, loud standing sections, local songs and a sense that the whole town is behind the team. The guide covers the leagues most visitors ask about, including those in Sweden, Finland, Germany, Switzerland, Czechia and Slovakia, plus the Austrian-based ICE Hockey League, the British Elite League and the KHL.
Why league hockey tickets are easier to plan
European club games are usually played on weekends and some weekday evenings, and many arenas are in cities that are easy to reach by train. Regular-season tickets are generally available closer to the date than NHL tickets, while playoff series and derbies sell faster. Each league page lists teams, arenas and season dates, and tells you clearly when something is still to be confirmed.
Combining a game with a city break
A hockey weekend works well as a city break. Because games often start in the late afternoon or early evening, you can see the sights by day and still be in your seat for the first puck drop. Check the arena page for how to get there and what the neighbourhood offers.
Hockey tickets 2026-27: schedules, team guides and alerts
Three tools make up the heart of this site. First, the schedule pages collect confirmed dates in one place so you can compare nights and cities. Second, the team guides describe each arena, its capacity and the rivals worth planning around. Third, the email alert gives you a quick message when something relevant changes.
How to buy hockey tickets safely
Whatever the league, start with the official box office of the club or event. Prices and availability are set there, and tickets are tied to your name or your account in many arenas. If a game is sold out, resale marketplaces can be an option, but always check the seat location, the delivery method and the buyer protection before you pay. Never buy from a stranger on social media who asks for a bank transfer.
Timing your hockey ticket purchase
Big events such as the outdoor games, the Global Series and the Worlds final sell out in the first days. Ordinary league nights rarely do. If you are flying in for a single game, buy tickets first, then book transport and hotel, and keep a flexible rate if you can.
2026-27 hockey season: what is confirmed and what is not
The most useful thing a ticket guide can do is separate facts from rumours. Confirmed: the NHL season length and dates, the outdoor games, the Global Series stops, the All-Star break in early February 2027 at UBS Arena in Elmont, and the World Championship in Germany. Not announced yet: the playoff start date, the Stanley Cup Final dates, and anything about the 2027-28 NHL season.
Looking ahead: hockey tickets 2027-28
Nothing has been announced for 2027-28. The NHL usually publishes its schedule in the summer, and the World Cup of Hockey is planned for February 2028 in Calgary, Edmonton and Prague. Calgary is also expected to open a new arena, Scotia Place, around that time. Our 2027-28 page tracks all of this honestly, and the alert will tell you the moment real dates appear.
